My Market Experience

At the market my group which included me, Jackson, Amaan and Brady sold Christmas cards and Post cards, I ended up running the Mairehau book stand.

During the time I spent at the Market I sold about 17 books and made about $4.00 I didn't end up working at the card stand but it was fine.

We made multiple different Pun Cards Including Santa Claws, Mrs Claws, Missile Toad, Santa Laws along with selling post cards of cats designed and made by my mum.

We spent around 5 weeks preparing for the market but we spent most of it messing about trying to figure out what to do but we ended up working it out in the end along with a long time of doing work to prepare including making a sign, making the cards and preparing equipment.
We spent the first few lessons trying to come up with ideas starting with the idea of making and selling NZ related post cards and regular cards but we ended up agreeing upon making Pun cards and later selling post cards.

If I was to do anything differently next year I think it would be a good idea to maybe plan ahead more along with maybe doing something different but maybe sticking with the cards might be a good idea.

However something I would like to happen is to have someone running the book stand which I ended up running due to no one running it and I being requested to run it until the Librarian (I think) arrived to take over and I ended up spending an hour and a half working there until I left about 30 minutes before it ended. I later found out that the teacher arrived almost immediately after I left so overall I would like next year to not end in me working at a different stand.

Adulting 101 through out term 3 we delved deeper into the realm of Stuff required to do as an adult? (I think). This involved doing things like learning about Flatting and it's relations to other things like driving and other major things in our society.

Flatting. We learnt how to... well flat and choosing the ideal location, how to save money and what the best thing , and the ideal costs for things, also relating to things like costs on food.

Technology. We spent a lot of time learning about the idealism and the reasons for blogging, along with diving into the problems and good parts with social media like Facebook, Twitter and many more.

Engineer's without borders. During this class we worked around learning about how different countries struggle and work out the problems of water, like lack of money, clean water and water in general. We worked on a place that i can't remember.

Driver's licence. We started with certain lesser known rules and we followed on with a quiz about rules and parts relating to getting a Driver's licesence.

Mystery food box. I wasn't there on the first day but on the second day we worked in groups to make Spaghetti Bolognese (the greasy kind) which I was not prepared for.

Teamwork. We got in groups and worked together to open a box locked with a couple different locks and padlocks, with clues hidden around the room which we had to work together to find and use.

I myself enjoyed Flatting, Engineer's without borders and Driver's license the most, Flatting because it was interesting to look at all of these places and get a new idea for the future, Engineer's without borders because it was fun messing about with money and figureing out things about the world, Driver's licence because I had the most fun with the tests.

I found learning to cook repeditive and easy it was quite easy and to rushed next time I would like more time for cooking and more choices to cook, one thing that worked well was the food.
I found learning to Flat interesting and intruiging but a little slow, next time I would like to try would be some more information, One thing that worked well was pretending to buy our own flats or whatever.
I found learning to use Technology easy and repeditive with lack of intrest, next time I would like to try doing more stuff online, One thing that worked well was the work.
I found learning about E.W.B exciting and intresting because of the tasks and games, next time I would like to try to learn some more, one thing that worked well was the work.
I found learning about Driving Interesting because of the fun games and free choice, next time I would like to try learning a bit more about vehicles, one thing that worked well was the quiz.
I found learning about teamwork interesting because of the fun puzzle, next time I would like to try another puzzle, One thing that worked well was the teamwork.



Overall the whole experience was quite interesting and an interesting experience to remember.
